Myka, our new "baby"

This is Myka. She is a 7 month old German Sheppard mix (we think Australian Cattle Dog). This is our new baby. We went to the humane society and picked her up yesterday. The first thing we did was take her for a walk because she had been in the car for so long (it takes about 45 minutes to get home from the humane society on a weeknight). She got car sick and made a mess in Jeffrey's truck. YUCK.

On the walk, she took her baby (the orange squeeky toy laying right next to her in the picture). She had it in her mouth for most of the walk. She didn't have a negative reaction to the other dogs, so that was good. We took her down to the beach and let her play in the sand and water. By the time we got back to the house she was a tired puppy.

Our cats, Milo, Jake and Jasmine do not like her right now. Jake and Jasmine have been hiding in the garage all night. Milo, on the other hand, remains in the house and insists on terrorizing Myka. All she wants to do is play with him.

She slept all night right next to our bed in her comfy cushy dog bed. This morning I took her for a short walk to get her used to the time schedule we have. She is a great dog.

Prayer Request

I have a dear friend that was in an accident while on vacation in Mexico. He was swimming in the water and got caught up in a rip tide. I cannot relate any details but I can say that he broke his neck and is in the hospital in San Diego. Please keep Steve and his family in your prayers.

Unpacked and ready to live

Last Sunday we finished unpacking, well almost finished. I still have two boxes of books to put away and then the pictures need to be hung on the walls. My studio is coming along great as well. I t feels good to have a garage instead of the storage unit it reseambled.

Now if I could just figure out the TiVo!
